INTRODUCTION
|
ABContacts is a full featured contact manager. The app has five main screens (and a sixth Settings screen you'll probably use sometimes). You can change the current screen tapping the title bar on most windows. If you're doing an action (creating a contact, assigning contact to groups, etc.) you'll need to complete or abandon the action to be able to change the current screen. In the settings (ABContacts -> General -> Application Menu : Shake to show) you can turn on the option to show the screen menu shaking the phone. By default, ABContacts will open in the last used screen. You can change this behavior on the settings (ABContacts -> General -> Application Menu : Startup Window) to open in a specific screen. |

This is how the screen selection menu appears on the phone screen. To choose a screen just tap its icon. If you open the menu you can close it tapping outside the black area. If you don't choose a screen in a few seconds the menu disappears automatically. Using this sliding menu ABContacts maximizes the space for your contact information. Quick actions work the same way but they slide in from the bottom (you'll learn about them in the Contacts section). |

Use the Settings screen to change the Applications used by ABContacts to make calls, send emails and sms. Options can be set on the Settings app of the device (see below). You can also open this guide with the user's guide button. |

On the Applications window you can choose which app ABContacts will use when you make a call, send an email or send a SMS. The list initially contains only Apple built-in apps but if you tap the Refresh button the list will be updated with the currently supported apps. When an app becomes compatible it will be added to the list and you should see it refreshing the list. |

It's important that you check ABContacts options on the Settings app of the phone because ABContacts has many customization options to give you a personalized usage experience. Defaults are reasonable for most users but it's better to take a look at them at least once. We'll see the various options in the specific sections. You can have a brief look with the screenshots below. |
